Paste one TikTok video link into LeadTrapper's Commenters tab and it lists each person who commented, once, with their profile details, the first 120 characters of their comment, the comment's likes, and any email or phone number their profile publishes. You export the list to Excel or CSV. TikTok's Terms ban automated collection, so the risk is yours.
- LeadTrapper's Commenters tab takes the link to one TikTok video and returns the people who commented on it, each person once, even if they commented several times.
- Every row holds the commenter's username, display name, followers, following, videos, total likes, bio, bio link, verified and private flags, profile link, the first 120 characters of the comment and how many likes the comment got.
- For each commenter it opens the public profile and looks for an email, a WhatsApp link or a phone number. Most commenters are viewers, not businesses, so expect many blank contact cells.
- You set Max Results from 10 to 10,000. A run also ends when the video has no more comments to load, and comes back empty when comments are turned off or TikTok wants a login.
- TikTok's Terms of Service forbid automated collection. LeadTrapper can't give you that permission, so the risk is yours. This isn't legal advice.
To scrape TikTok comments without code, paste the video’s link into a tool that loads the comments for you and turns each commenter into a row. LeadTrapper’s TikTok scraper does this on its Commenters tab: one video link in, a table out with each person who commented, what they wrote, their follower count and any email or phone number their profile publishes. This guide covers what the export holds, how to pick videos worth scraping, and why some runs come back empty, checked against the code that runs it.
Why the Comments Are Worth Reading
A follower count tells you how many people saw a creator once. A comment tells you someone cared enough to type. Under a video about a product, a service or a problem, the comment section is a list of people who raised their hand: they asked a price, tagged a friend, or said they’d been looking for exactly this.
TikTok doesn’t let anyone see who liked a video, so comments are the only engagement you can actually list. A dental clinic in Toronto can read who commented on a local “teeth whitening, before and after” video. A furniture supplier in Riyadh can see who asked “do you deliver?” under a competitor’s showroom tour. A coach in London can find the people asking questions under a popular video in their niche, and reply to them on TikTok first.
What You Get for Each Commenter
Each person appears once, however many times they commented. The row holds:
| Column | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Username, Display Name | The handle and the name shown on the profile |
| Comment | The first 120 characters of what they wrote |
| Comment likes | How many likes that comment got |
| Followers, Following, Videos, Total Likes | The numbers on their profile |
| Bio, Bio Link | Their bio text and the link in it |
| Verified, Private | Whether TikTok marks the account verified, and whether it’s private |
| Email, Phone | What their public profile publishes, when found |
| Profile URL | A link to open the profile |
The contact columns come from a second step. After the comments are collected, LeadTrapper opens each commenter’s public TikTok page, five at a time, and looks for an email address, a wa.me WhatsApp link or a phone number written in international format. What it can’t do is find contacts a profile doesn’t show, and most commenters are ordinary viewers who publish none.
Scraping Comments Step by Step
- Open the video in TikTok and copy its link from the address bar or the Share button.
- In LeadTrapper, open TikTok Studio and choose the Commenters tab.
- Paste the link and set Max Results. Start with 100 to see what the video gives you.
- Press Run. A browser window opens the video, loads the comment section and keeps loading more until it reaches your limit or the video runs out of comments. The progress bar shows the count.
- When it finishes, it reads each commenter’s profile for contact details, then fills the table.
- Export to Excel or CSV, or press Load to Campaign to send the phone numbers to the WhatsApp bulk sender.
Stop keeps whatever was collected so far. The window keeps its own TikTok session on your computer, separate from your everyday browser, so if you log in once there, later runs reuse it.
Choosing the Right Videos
The video you pick decides what the list is worth. A dance video with 40,000 comments gives you 40,000 strangers. A 2-minute review of commercial coffee machines with 300 comments gives you café owners, baristas and people about to buy one.
Good sources are videos where the comments are questions: “how much?”, “where are you based?”, “do you ship to Jakarta?”. Competitors’ product videos, local news about your industry and “what I wish I knew before…” videos all draw people with a real need. Find them with the Keywords or Hashtags tab of the same tool, sort by comments, then run the most promising video through Commenters. The full set of search modes is in our guide to how to scrape TikTok.
Why Some Runs Come Back Empty
When a run ends with no rows, LeadTrapper says why it thinks that happened. There are three usual reasons:
- Comments are turned off. The creator disabled them, so there is nothing to load.
- TikTok wants a login. Some videos only show comments to signed-in viewers. Log in inside LeadTrapper’s TikTok window and run it again.
- TikTok is blocking for a while. If the window shows TikTok’s own error page, press Stop and try again later, about 30 minutes is a sensible wait.
Can You Scrape TikTok Comments?
You can, in the sense that the comments load in any browser. TikTok doesn’t allow it: TikTok’s Terms of Service list using “automated scripts to collect information from or otherwise interact with the Services” among the things you may not do. LeadTrapper can’t grant a permission TikTok doesn’t give, so the risk of using it, or any comment scraper, is yours.
Usernames and comments can also be personal data under laws such as the GDPR. Collect what you’ll use, and keep any message to a commenter relevant to what they said. A WhatsApp number in a bio is an invitation to contact a business, not consent to a sales sequence, so run numbers through the WhatsApp Number Filter and write a first message a person would welcome. This isn’t legal advice.
Other Ways to Do It
| Approach | What you get | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copying by hand | Whatever you copy | Free | Fine for one video with 30 comments |
| Python libraries from GitHub | Raw comment data | Free | You write, run and repair the code |
| Cloud scrapers such as Apify | Comment data through an API | Pay per result | Built for developers; Apify’s TikTok Scraper page says it doesn’t extract private data such as emails |
| LeadTrapper Commenters tab | Each commenter once, with comment, profile numbers and published email or phone | $50/year, all features | Windows app; numbers load into a WhatsApp campaign |
Comments show who is interested. If you want to reach the creators themselves, our guide to finding a TikTok creator’s business email covers that side, and TikTok lead generation compares this approach with TikTok’s own lead ads.
Frequently Asked Questions
Technically yes: the comments on a public video load in your browser, and a tool can read them. TikTok's Terms of Service forbid using automated scripts to collect information from TikTok, so doing it is against TikTok's rules and the risk is yours. LeadTrapper reads the comments of one video at a time in a visible browser window on your computer. This isn't legal advice.
For coders, yes. Free Python libraries on GitHub read TikTok comments, but you run and repair them yourself whenever TikTok changes. Cloud tools such as Apify charge per result. LeadTrapper isn't free: it costs $50 a year with every feature, including the TikTok tools, after a 14-day free trial.
Only where the commenter's profile publishes one. LeadTrapper opens each commenter's public TikTok page and looks for an email address, a WhatsApp link or a phone number. Comments come mostly from viewers, so on an entertainment video almost no row has a contact. On a video about a trade or a local service, more commenters are businesses.
No. TikTok doesn't show a list of who liked a video, so no scraper can export one. Comments are the visible sign of interest, which is why LeadTrapper's tab works from the comment list.
You choose Max Results from 10 to 10,000. Each person appears once, so a video with 500 comments from 350 different people gives at most 350 rows. The run stops sooner if TikTok stops returning more comments.
